PompeiiinPictures
This page shows the additions and updates to pompeiiinpictures where new photographs of Pompeii and other new material have been added to the site. The locations with new pictures are listed month by month and in each month by regio, insula and house number and house name where there is one. Each new entry has a link to take you directly to the page for that villa, house, shop, tomb, baths, temple, gate, tower, altar, fountain or other location.
Where a large number of photographs have been added, the old photographs may have been rearranged or merged with the new so that rooms are placed together. On the larger houses the rooms have been numbered and a room plan added.
Some changes may only be to the descriptive text, improving its clarity or adding more information.
During 2011 the site underwent considerable change. Our hosting supplier upgraded their hardware and software and some features have disappeared, at least for the short term, until we can find a replacement. The most noticeable change is that there are no previous, next, up and home buttons. pompeiiinpictures has also changed colours from our blue of the last 5 years to a more modern black and white look which will show the pictures better.
www.pompeiiinpictures.com www.pompeiiinpictures.eu www.pompeiiinpictures.net www.pompeiiinpictures.info are all in the new black and white format. The previous, next, up and home buttons are no longer available but we have added extra ribbons of links, wherever feasible, to try to minimise this loss, until we can find a better replacement.
www.pompeiiinpictures.org is, for the time being, still in the old format, white and blue, with the back and forward buttons.
Changes to reflect the introduction of www.pompeiiinpictures.org and new site hosting arrangements and explain the resulting differences in layout (the content is the same) of the sites.
