IX.8.6 Pompeii. Casa del Centenario or House of the Centenary

or Domus A Rustii Veri e Tiberius Claudi Veri. 

Linked to IX.8.3, IX.8.8, IX.8.a and IX.8.c.  Excavated 1879, 1881 and 1902.

IX.8.6 Pompeii.  December 2007.  Entrance on Via Nola. According to Della Corte, this magnificient dwelling, belonged to the Verus family.
According to the graffiti written on the façade, this was A. Rustius Verus, noted as aedile and duumvir candidate. Another mentioned was Ti. Claudius Verus, who held the position of supreme magistrate for the year 61-62.  
On the east (left) side of the entrance doorway, between IX.8.7 and 6, were found –
(A.) Rustius (Verus) (rogat)  [CIL IV 3750]
(A.) Rustius (Verus) facit      [CIL IV 3751]
And a third written at the side of number 3 read - (A.) Rustius (Verus) facit     [CIL IV 3738 with Note 4].  See Della Corte, M., 1965.  Case ed Abitanti di Pompei. Napoli: Fausto Fiorentino. (p.133)

Also found were the following recommendations from the neighbours. 
Ti. Claudium Verum, II virum   
vicini rogant         [CIL IV 367]
Ti. Claudium Verum  
vicini rog(ant)      [CIL IV 440]
They prove the nearness of the house of this magistrate, but cannot identify it precisely.  Mau thought it was definitely the House of the Centenario because of the graffiti found on the middle column on the south side of the peristyle. This named - Ti(berius) Claudius Ver(us)      [CIL IV 5229]
Also found on the façade, between the entrances of numbers IX.8.7 and 6, was the electoral programme -
Rustium Verum d.i.d
