VI.16.29 Pompeii. March 2009. Room 9, small garden area. According to Jashemski, the small garden at the rear of the house could be seen through a large window from entrance 30.  The garden had a channel on the east, south, and west which carried the rain water to an adjacent light well area, (room 8) to the north that was paved as a pool and had a cistern underneath. It was on the white ground of the dado of the west wall. A single yellow serpent was painted, advancing to the left towards an altar furnished with offerings. In the background were plants. Not.
