VI.7.23 Pompeii. Pen and ink drawings by N. La Volpe, Autumn 1839, of two medallions from tablinum showing female head with cupids standing behind them.
These may represent the Seasons; the upper one may represent Spring and can be seen on the east end of the south wall.
The lower female head may represent Winter, but it cannot be accurately located as the medallions have now faded and become unrecognisable.
They both have the same necklace but different earrings. These possibly would have both been seen on the south wall.
Now in Naples Archaeological Museum. Inventory number ADS 217.

These may represent the Seasons; the upper one may represent Spring and can be seen on the east end of the south wall.
